There is so much that I am looking forward to sharing with you! Our caterpillars formed their chrysalis, we had a fantastic sign painting, concert and V.I.P. Day, our picnic was SO much fun, and our friends have enjoyed digging around in the dirt as only children know how.
Today I want to send you some reminders for your calendar.
Wednesday, May 9th - Bike to School Day ( This Wednesday) - Please see Christine with questions.
International Bike to School Day is Wednesday May 9. Participants can bike from home or meet on the west side of the First Ave. HyVee by 8:20 to bike to school on the path. HyVee will donate fruit for participants to enjoy.
Thursday, May 10th - Spanish Fruit Flower Making
Please see a forwarded e-mail from Danielle regarding a fruit project that the Racerunners are doing on this Thursday. We will need halved strawberries, halved grapes and celery stalks.
Friday, May 11th - Character Day for Relay for Life
Bring $1.00 (or more) to participate in Character Day. Friends may dress as their favorite character from a book or movie all day long!
Friday, May 18th - International Day for Relay for Life
Bring $1.00 (or more) to participate in International Day. Friends may wear their favorite dress, headgear, jewels or paint from another country. Perhaps they will choose a country that they have visited, lived in or have family ties. Can't wait to see an international representation!
Friday, May 25th - Mustache Day
Bring $1.00 (or more) to participate in wearing a mustache at Willowwind all day long! This may be painted or apart of a costume. Your choice.
We have 2 Field Trips this Month
A trip to the Library with the Cottontail Rabbits - Date TBA
A trip to Jenn Berger's family farm to explore the pond, baby lambs, and Border Collie fun! We will plan to leave late in the morning to enjoy lunch at the farm, and then explore! If you would like to drive to this event please let me know. It will happen on Tuesday, May 29th.
Monday, May 28th - No School in honor of Memorial Day
All School Sleepover
It is that time of year when students are planning for their sleepover. I will send a private e-mail to the Racerunner Families indicating the time, activities and necessary supplies for this great tradition.
The Last Day of School is Thursday, May 31st at 8:00 a.m. Please plan on picking your child up in the morning. There will not be ASP on this day.
