Ms. Brooke! They really do say "Baa Baa!"
This lamb was born after school started on Tuesday.
His curiosity with a group of students made him wander too far from his Mama, so students were able to turn off their voices and watch carefully as Mama and Baby used their Baa Baa to find each other again.
A Day at the Farm
Every child should be fortunate enough to run in wide open spaces, exploring a world that combines all of the elements of nature and encourages them to ask questions and wonder.
What a wonderful Tuesday we had visiting Max's farm. We enjoyed lambs, sheep herding, ducks, chickens, horses and a pond that begged for us to take off our shoes!
We were exhausted, hungry and most importantly...
so content of heart at the end of our day.
Thank-you to Jenn Berger for explaining colostrum, grafting, the temperament of various animals, and showing the hard work of sheep, Jeep and her various commands.
We learned so much from you and Max!
Thank-you
A Picture Walk from the Farm

Miss. Skinny is one of 4 Quadruplets born this week. His caregiver helped us understand how to tell if she was a boy or a girl. She wasn't getting enough milk, so the family is feeding her with a dropper/bottle. We were so surprised at how soft she really was. |
 |
| We loved the ducks, but had to approach them very carefully. |
 |
| We took turns holding a chicken. |
Understanding Dog Trials
All year long we have been hearing about Max's Dog Trials. We had an opportunity to watch as Jeep did his thing following the various whistle commands Jenn gave him. It was fascinating!
We stood along the fence to watch Sheep Herding

Discoveries
Horses love carrots!
 |
Discovering butterfly eggs on a leaf was the highlight of her afternoon. They were beautiful eggs...but we can't figure out what species they belong to.
The Pond and Lunch |
 |
| Water was essential to our trip! |
 |
| After the long haul to the pond, milk did his body good! |
 |
| The more wet, the more mud, the more fun! |
 |
| Banana Break at the Pond! |
 |
| The mud felt squishy between our feet. Now if we could only find those frogs.... |
 |
| Thank-you to Amanda for bringing the watermelon that our friends loved after exploring in the pond. |
 |
Thank-you to all of our parent volunteers for making the trip so successful. Here Jacqueline drove all of our lunches to the pond so that we could run and romp. |
 |
| One-half mile to the pond and lunch. |
 |
| Sheep herding, feeding horses, and pond exploring are the perfect makings for hungry children! |
 |
Quiet Moments enjoying our lunch overlooking the pond... and listening to the frogs.
Jeep loved the watermelon rinds too. |
